Our Epic Care Antioch team dressed in black to help bring awareness to melanoma!

Did you know? May is Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. Melanoma is much less common than some other types of skin cancers. But melanoma is more dangerous because it’s much more likely to spread to other parts of the body if not caught and treated early.

Check your skin regularly to help spot any new or abnormal moles or other growths and show them to your doctor before they even have a chance to turn into skin cancer. Keep in mind that while important, self-exams are not enough, seeing your doctor regularly for professional skin examinations, especially if you’re fair-skinned, will give you the best chances of catching skin cancer early when it’s most treatable.
