Juneteenth
Today, June 19, celebrates Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day.
It was on this day in 1865, news of the emancipation and the Civil War’s end was proclaimed to southern slaves and enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were told they were free.
As an organization we recognize our responsibility to our patients and the community to learn more so we may continue to demonstrate and build upon our shared values of respect, inclusivity and equity.
We celebrate Juneteenth by learning, listening and opening a dialogue among our teams and within the community to discuss what this day represents in our history and the challenges the Black community continues to face today.
On behalf of Epic Care Leadership, thank you for your continued trust and support as we do our part to remain part of the changing future.
